The Ifsttar (French Institute of Transport, Development and network science and Technology) was born on January 1, 2011, of the merger of the Central Laboratory of bridges and pavements (LCPC) and the National Institute for Research on Transport and Their safety (INRETS). A public institution of scientific and technological nature, the Ifsttar is under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable development and Energy and the Ministry of Higher Education and research. 1st European Institute of Research on Transport, civil engineering and the sustainable city, the Ifsttar conducts finalised research and expertise to improve the living conditions of its citizens and to promote the sustainable development of Companies. Its flagship missions focus on the development of the transport of tomorrow and their infrastructure, mobility of people and goods, security but also the planning of the Territories, environmental impacts, energy savings and Materials. Bringing together nearly 1 200 agents spread over 8 sites in France: Lille, Marne-la-Vallée, Versailles/Satory, Nantes, Salon-de-Provence, Aix-en-Provence/Marseille, Lyon and Grenoble, the Ifsttar enjoys a strong territorial anchorage which allows it to Develop privileged relationships with universities, industry and communities
