
LOT 0 – Project Management and Coodining
Renault manages the activities related to Rambouillet territories.
WP 1 – System Integration Platform
The purpose of this batch 1 is to follow an engineering approach for the specification and analysis of needs and for the structural and behavioral design of the Tornado system as well as the subsystems and communication interfaces. On the other hand, this batch also aims to define a detailed specification of the integration platform allowing the implementation of the real-time orchestration processes of the various subsystems forming part of the Tornado solution.
The Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour is responsible for the management of this working package.
WP 2-Use cases and demonstration
This Lot 2 aims on the one hand to describe what we want to implement during the experiments in the territory and on the other hand, to define the cases of the envisaged types of uses, the variants and their technical specificities and environmental constraints Including the places of experimentation, the main characteristics, the relations with the public, the partners, other institutions, etc.
Rambouillet territories manages this working package.
WP 3-Shuttle Service area Parking
This lot 3 has as its objective all the software and experimental developments allowing the navigation of the shuttles in the context of the case of use N ° 1. In the long run, the services must be operated without drivers, and additional studies are needed and taken into account in the project. They include a security system based on the concept of ‘ virtual bumper ‘ which must allow the vehicle to stop immediately in standalone mode when detecting relevant classified objects (i.e., which represent a very high risk from a safe point of view).
The Pascal Institute will ensure the pilotage of this working package.
WP 4-Long distance shuttle Service (road)
This lot 4 aims at all the software and experimental developments allowing the navigation of autonomous cars (long distance shuttles) on the road in the context of the case of use N ° 2 connecting the station of Gazeran to the commercial area of Rambouillet . This implies autonomous on-road navigation with the presence of other autonomous or non-self-contained vehicles and with or without vehicle-vehicle communications (V2V) and Infrastructure vehicles (V2I).
Renault will ensure the piloting of this working package.
WP 5 – Monitoring and Cloud Support
Lot 5 is to inform in a portal all the information relating to the State of the Fleet of vehicles (position, speed,…) when they operate in autonomous mode. It also provides the means to share information about what is happening on the road beyond the capacity to perceive onboard sensors in addition, this cloud supports the collection of information from the Internet, such as the state of traffic, services Emergency, work, etc…
Exoskills will ensure the piloting of this working package.
WP 6 – Smart Infrastructure
The objective of Lot 6 is to design the communicantspermettant roadside devices to facilitate traffic and to secure the navigation of autonomous vehicles in traffic. The following cases of use will be studied:-the management of roundabouts, automatically providing information to improve the insertion and exit of the autonomous vehicle,-the management of crosses on a narrow roadway, the priority of Passage will be facilitated by the infrastructure-the management of intersections or areas with reduced visibility, by providing assistance to the passage of fires-the management of arrival in the car parks of the commercial zones, by correcting the drifts of Location of the vehicle.
IFSTTAR and NEAVIA will ensure the pilotage of this lot.
WP 7-Field of experimentation
The purpose of this lot 7 is to define the work plan for use cases and to describe the processes of experiments (test specifications, deliverables, evaluation and feedback, improvement Plan,…) in conjunction with the Lot 2 demonstration plan.
Rambouillet territories will ensure the pilotage of this working package.
WP 8 – User expectation and acceptability
This lot 8 aims on the one hand to know the practices of mobility and on the other hand, to study the perception of the users of the experimentation of the autonomous vehicles before and in the course of experimentation. The overall results will determine the mobility needs of the users, the expectations for the autonomous vehicle and the identification of the brakes for the use of the autonomous vehicle in order to produce recommendations and to guide the Experiments.
Rambouillet territories will ensure the pilotage of this working package.
WP 9 – Communication and operation
This lot 9 aims to organise the overall communication of the project and to adapt the communication media according to the target audience (institutional, user community, public, partners,…) as well as to organize the entire experimentation phase to Through the Living Lab user community developed in previous work. (Lot 2 and 8).
