EXOSKILLS and TORNADO – Meeting with its President, Michel Blanco-Levrin "We will finally test autonomous cars in semi-urban conditions"
Specializing in new uses and digital innovation, Exoskills imagines the connected services of tomorrow, especially in the automotive sector. This expertise is reflected in the TORNADO project, in which the company is a partner alongside Renault.
The idea? Test autonomous vehicles in 2020 under new conditions.
How did Exoskills integrate the TORNADO project?
Michel Blanco-Levrin: We have accompanied Renault on research and development issues related to autonomous cars and in particular the optimization of their tests. The feedback has been positive and we have integrated the Tornado project as a partner. This project foresees that in 2020 autonomous cars will be tested in semi-urban conditions, to solve the problem of the last kilometers. And in particular the accessibility of shops in some areas underserved by public transport. These tests, which will be a first in these conditions, will take place in Rambouillet.
What is Exoskills’ role in this project?
We have an advisory role which consists in imagining an eco-system that is both easy to access for users but also easy to manage and manage for the manufacturer. In fact, we simplify the tool and its service so that the experience is comfortable and efficient for all parties.
